TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
We're delighted to announce that it's been possible to put together a
great arrangement for the future of TECHWR-L! We're thrilled with what's
been worked out, and have no doubt that the community will be equally
pleased.
What are the changes and what's the future look like? Unfortunately, we
can't describe that quite yet. Details should be forthcoming within the
next couple of weeks, though, so please stay tuned.
We can say, though, that the short term plan will not involve drastic
changes--everything will continue mostly as it is now, except that there
will be a lot more action on the Web site in terms of content updates
and the like. (Yes, that means that new content will be solicited, so
start thinking about what kinds of articles you might want to have your
names on, but don't send them in quite yet.)
Thank you to everyone who has written with encouragement, thanks, and
support--we greatly appreciate it.
We're confident that these changes will make TECHWR-L an even more
useful resource than it has been in the past--and allow it to serve the
community in ways more interesting than we ever could have achieved on
our own.
Watch this space...more announcements to come as quickly as we can make
them.
