Hello, and congrats Lisa Bronson from another living in the bizarre
weather state!
I used to be a sole proprietorship. I Incorporated as an S-Corp on
January 01, 2003. I've never been sued, and I've never been asked by a
client to have general liability insurance, until now.
So, I called my insurance agent. I didn't understand his explanation
about liability insurance, but then he told me I needed error and
omissions insurance IN ADDITION to the liability to protect myself from
getting sued. I'm assuming I *could* get sued if, for example, when I
was working at Toro, I DID NOT say "Do not use your new Toro Power 5000
to trim your chest high bushes." Then Toro gets sued by somebody that
mowed the bushes and then I get sued for what I guess would be an
"error" or an "omission".
So, what is the liability insurance for, exactly? And what about this
E&O insurance? Good, bad, important, needed?
As an addendum, what is a hakis? I can't find it in any dictionaries,
even my French-English one, and hakis.org doesn't give an understandable
explanation.... All other sites are so loaded with French that I can't
understand a lot of it (my French is rusty!!)
Thanks for your help.
