Yep - I freaked at that too when I first read it some
months ago. What was meant was 1/2 your body weight

I weigh about 180 lbs so using that as a guideline I
need to take in about 90 ounces of liquid. That
liquid can come in any form. Keeping in mind that
most of our foods contain anywhere from some to a lot
of liquid. Coffee counts. Tea counts. Sadly, even
soda pop counts. :-(
The point is that it's 1/2 your body weight (in
ounces) of liquid every day. It's recognized that
water is best, but this guideline does not mean that
one must drink gallons of water to get to the
recommended dosage. ;-)
