TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
We create medical practice management software. To install one of the
products, we use an external database software (firebird) as well as
support software e.g. Ultr -at- VNC, and Belarc. The SME who helped with
this technical installation manual included installation instructions
for all of these products into the one manual, as well as the
adminstrational functions like imports, and account set-up information,
synchronisation and 3rd party interfaces.
I agree with everything, (the technical installation manual is 204
pages, (single spacing) Would you say that all the 3rd party software
like firebird etc. should be in the manual for the sake of having a
complete set-up manual, or not?
