TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Wow! I'm really glad you took me to task on this. You
are right. I'm not lowly. None of us are! Technical
writers ROCK!!! I really don't think of myself or any
other TWs that way.
I was thinking more about the potential politics of
the situation when I wrote my response.
There's no system in place here like the PPs describe,
other than VSS. And thus, code belongs strictly to
developers and doc belongs to TWs. They don't want me
changing the code, and I don't want them changing the
doc.

Ok, I won't. But I will tell you that I try to pick my
battles. :)
