I used a ball in place of a chair for a short time when I had back
problems a few years back. I posted the following two (ungrammatical)
messages to another list I was on at the time:
Back is getting better. Have to stop doing things like cleaning
and weeding. Darn.
For work, have replaced $800 aeron chair with $30 giant green blowup
ball. Oddly enough, this helps my back immensely. And it bounces.

desk. Lose balance. Roll off big green blowup ball. Put hand out to
break fall. Crush fingers on floor. Hit head on edge of desk. Kick
underside of desk with stocking foot. Lie on floor moaning. Ball
bounces gently. Ball is unharmed.
