I don't deny the value DFDs bring to technical communication, but you
cannot rely on these as the core of your delivered value. They play a
very small albeit useful role. There are many different ways to
deliver info to people, and no one means is inherently better than
another. it's not what you provide, but how you provide it, and the
context in which it needs to be used, that counts.
