Subject:SOLVED (I hope) RE: Can you suggest a way to manage this process? From:"O'Shea ,Elizabeth" <Elizabeth -dot- OShea -at- Elan -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com> Date:Tue, 23 Nov 2004 16:00:59 -0000
Thanks everyone for your input. I've gone for a hybrid of different
suggestions:
1. I created a new copy in a different folder and accepted all the changes.
2. I turned on Track changes and show them only in the printed document.
3. I created an individual copy for each reviewer, appending their initials
to the file name. (I neglected to put the file name in the footer of the
doc, which I may live to regret. But I can always write that in.)
4. I mailed everyone their copy, a copy of the live document, and an
invitation to a review meeting.
The next steps: Some of the reviewers will review their copies before the
meeting and bring a printed copy with them. I'll have spare printed copies
for everyone else. I'll have the working document open and projected onto a
screen. We can agree the changes and I can implement them right then.
Surprisingly, only one person can't officially make the meeting.
Unsurprisingly, only one person of 9 has actually accepted the invitation.
Thanks again for your input. I'll let you know how smoothly it goes.
