I'm not sure if I confused you or you confused me with your two-part
answer. With "I've been self-publishing my stuff for several years,
online however." I meant literally publishing online, in an electronic
format (HTML/PDF). But to answer your question regardless: yes, I do
make money at it, a living actually. Not as much as I would like but
that's really only to blame on my laziness, not on the market. Those
scams about working from home and making thousands of dollars are based
on a few true examples like me. It's not as easy as they make it sound,
but it's definitely doable, especially for a tech writer. I've been
doing it for 4 years now.
Before I spill out my experience(s), please let me know if you are
interested in my experience with online self-publishing or using online
companies for self-publishing.
