Oh yes, the old ImageWriter that sounded like a dental drill -- and I
remember thinking what a big step for ward THAT was from those pre-Mac
dot matrix printouts.
Now what is that term that I can't think of -- for graphics that aren't
bitmaps, but instead are made up of a series of instructions for drawing
lines and curves?

Thanks for pointing out the capability. But it's an Apple program, and
won't help the OP.
This conversation reminds me of old issues with graphics programs. It
was a great time when MacDraw, MacDraft and Minicad were hot stuff.
Taping together the Imagewriter printouts was great fun.
