Hi Diotima
John Wayne, it was, who rumbled, "Talk low, talk slow, and don't say too much."

Sadly, we cannot apply the same to technical writing. Lest we do that,
I don't see myself walking-the-race for too long. The call of the day
is to *think fast* and *write smart.*

I read that you are a bit self-conscious with your writing, bravo,
that's the way to be. Nothing wrong with that, most of us generally
are! Then, what's the big *issue* here.

Do you actually find yourself at the end of the marathon even before
the race has actually begun? Time management is the mantra for you.
First things first, obtain all those spooky reference material on
time, before you kick-off with an elaborate set of critical milestones
and deliverable deadlines.

Spend your initial period building up the thought process. Whack your
brain-cells as to what is expected out of you and what you can deliver
in a pre-defined timeframe. Its not all that dreaded and as much of a
war, I can assure you that.

Yeah, I agree, gathering information is a BIG pain-in-the-neck. But
then it is as much a pain for the Product Managers to deliver the
information to us on time. If they don't realize this, it's high time
you bell the cat.

The capacity and capability factor is something that no one but *only*
you can gauge.

Working faster, naah, I wont advice you that. But, smarter, of course!
