I've thought about this some more. Check out some phone sites. If you
drill down for detail, you may encounter rotating 3D models.
I put together a panoramic view at a dental website, where potetential
customers could view various settings. I'll try to post some of those
links.
Real estate sites make use of 3D walk-throughs.
These examples are a bit of a stretch for "online documentation," I'm sure.
