Adobe *also* makes an Acrobat server product that sends individual
HTML pages to users as they browse the resource.
Thus, a collection of .pdf files can be accessed as needed by web
browsers without having to run Acrobat clients anywhere, and without
having to download entire documents to find information on a single
page somewhere.
Of course, in typical Adobe fashion--it is very expensive, poorly
marketed, and runs on the wrong platform...
For situations in which the users have access to a Web browser and
where the information changes often, this may be a very nice solution.
