I've been getting them, too John.
These days, though, a lot of recruiters share resumes and bios of people. It's quite possible (if not probable) that several recruiters are contacting you for the same position. They know it, too, and want to make sure that they are the one to refer you.
However, it IS a nice feeling, isn't it?
