This thread generated a lot of heat, but it also produced a good by-
product. If you throw out most of the stuff about BVDs, I mean DFDs, I
learned quite a bit. My tendency is to concentrate more on
understanding the subject and the tools I'm using. I realize now that
I need to brush up on my communication skills.
Thank you Dick, Sharon, Tony, and especially Walden who made me
remember some stuff I haven't thought about much for <gulp> almost 20
years. I should say "consciously thought about." I'll give myself that
much credit. I'm sure I use much of it each day without thinking about
it.
Thanks again, but I'm glad the thread is on the way out.

I thought I would try once more.

Writing is a communication art.
Tech writing is a communication art about a specific technical
subject/product/artifact.
Like most interesting things, the way to get there is as important as
the
end result.
I hope this helps. If not, then I will join the others and throw in
the
towel.
