How about this for innovation:
As a TW, I creatively used Data Flow Diagrams to, in
about seven business days, rigorously define the scope
of a vary large-scale federal government software
project.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. You've told us that one already. What have you done for us lately? In other words, how innovative is it to come in and do what you said you would do in your job interview? Where's the creativity in the face of an unrecognized bottleneck?
Now, if you said that on the _next_ job you automated a process that was formerly done manually and thereby enabled the company to reduce headcount by three people, and on the job after _that_ you diagnosed and resolved a critical path problem and thereby reduced average project times from nine months to six months, and on the job after _that_ ... then we'd agree about how innovative you are. But a one-trick pony is by definition not an innovator.
Not trying to burst your bubble, Tony. I'm just saying the question was about innovation, not about problem-solving.
