This is an MS Word 2002 (SP3)-specific issue, not sure if there is a
workaround or not.
I have a document with many images (over 150). Almost all images were
originally bitmaps, then converted to JPEGs and included in the
document as "Insert and Linked" files.
The original BMP-JPEG conversion used compression that was too high,
resulting in blurriness. I have rerun the conversion so I have good
JPEGs to insert. The JPEGs have been replaced in their home folder.
When I select an image and choose Edit/Links/Update Now, images are
not updated. I have to re-insert the picture for the new one to be
picked up. This obviates the use of linking in the first place.
Has anyone run into this before? Have not found anything on the web.
