Well, (La)TeX is used by thousands of people every day, which is more than can be said than how many people hammer a nail with a screwdriver...

You are free to dismiss it as a format ofcourse, but it comes across as a tad unfair, since it is used in commercial & academic environments and is supported by several commercial applications.
