Hi Bruce,
I believe you have to publish the movie and view it in "finished" format (ie, an html page) in order to see the changes. Select File > Publish, then select Control > Test Movie. Do you see the changes?

Thanks for answering. However, you can also test or preview.
I did finally find out what I was doing wrong, however. I needed to register some objects before they could be used.
