The number comes in way less than 1/2 inch long for all 11 digits.
The iPod is (without a ruler) a couple of inches by about 5 inches.
The number could have been multiple times bigger...real estate is not
the issue.

It is just plain small. The only reason I can think of for it being
that small is they wanted it that small....why? Ask Steve...I'm sure
he has a reason why Apple does everything the way they do it.
