Re: Why should I be worried about the merger?
Why are we all assuming that we'd have to settle for a poorer set of tools?
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Because competition makes for good product. "Mine is better than yours". Lacking strong competition, it becomes "Don't spend any more on development / bug fixing than required".
Why do you think Word sucks so much? THAT is what Adobe's tools will become without good competitive products. Shareholders will demand that those $$ be given to them rather than spent on development that, in their eyes, isn't necessary.
