Surely you jest. 1 to 1?!? I don't think any environment justifies a
one-to-one ratio. Doing the research and developing the product will
always be a longer and more complex task than describing user functions or
the subsets/handles to be used by integrators.
If you are really stuck for numbers, how do expect Techwhirlers to give
reasonable starting points without knowing anything about your industry,
your products, your services, the level of expertise of your writers, the
general workload, and expected output/deliverables?
If you're budgeting and MUST have a first average, take an educated guess.
Your guess will certainly be better than our wild stabs in the dark. Then,
as you gain experience refine your budget from budget period to budget
period while staying on top of projections and schedules to identify any
overruns or surpluses as early on as possible.
