Subject:Re: resume fondling -- am I being too picky? From:Barry Campbell <barry -dot- campbell -at- gmail -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com> Date:Fri, 29 Apr 2005 19:16:00 -0400
Just as a data point:
I am a past master of Microsoft Word, having used it since it was a
character-based DOS application. I maintain Word templates for the
main types of documents that I produce, each with its own carefully
tweaked and lovingly groomed style settings.
If you want to evaluate my style-fu, however, you'll need to ask to
see one of my longer technical documents... or we could talk about
HTML and CSS, or XML and XSLT, if you prefer.
See, I wouldn't *dream* of formatting my resume with styles.
So I guess that somebody who uses Word's "Resume Wizard" to put
together their C.V. will move ahead of me in the queue. ;-)
