Re: Liability insurance
To a certain extent for me, it's a matter of principle. This
really sucks. It's really unfair and unreasonable for a writer,
who has NO way to force management to review her work, to bear
all the burden for errors and omissions. A friend of mine put it
well:
I don't get it either. Risk is cost. For every risk that's out there, somebody's bearing the cost. If hiring powers want to shift some risk to techcomms, rates must rise: the cost doesn't just disappear, and it's in fact more costly for small operators to indemnify themselves. Across the system, everybody pays more.
The idea is that you'll absorb the cost of additional risk and hold rates stable. Little Fish do what Big Fish say. Still, additional costs *will* find their way back into rates eventually -- but Big Fish only care what he pay today.
