For God's sake, why the negativity? Why on Earth would you leave? If you
were being paid X per wk before and X per wk now, what tiny insignificant
advantage or morsel of prestige is being lost? What positive aspect are
people linking with being salaried slaves working all hours required for
the same compensation? What possible significance does the fact your
unchanged X per wk is now actually X per Y hrs.

Stay AND DON'T change your behaviour. If you HAVE to work overtime, make
sure it's budgeted before charging it. If it's budgeted, revel in the fact
that your company now values you MORE than a salaried employee because
they are paying you for ALL of your time.

If it's not budgeted, and your weekly pay hasn't changed from before, why
not just do the same as before and put in the extra time to finish the job
properly?

Heck, if it's not budgeted and you can show you boss you're putting in
more hours you might be able to get the boss to repay you in kind and
allow some time off.

The whole dang thing might just be a budgeting thing so they can track
projects more closely. You should be happy that the company now wants to
budget based on a portion of you life instead of ALL of your life.

This is all as bad as the navel gazing and pathetic supposition that
respect is gained by the title on your business card.
