My take is this: Not only can you not compare myth to history in this
way, but the reason that the Titanic sank was not any oversight on the
part of the builders. If anyone should be blamed, it should be the
captain, who knew that free-floating ice was up ahead and didn't divert
his course. Or possibly, the blame should fall on the marketing
department of the shipping companies who advertised that the ship was
"unsinkable."
