Reading the various responses here I wondered if how we spell related to
how we learn - visually, aurally etc? I'd consider myself a good speller
but something I've noticed (anybody else notice this) is this - if I try
to spell a word I don't know and write it down, 99% of the time I'll
know if I've spelt it right or not. It'll 'look' right or wrong. I
assume this is down to reading a lot and words get filed away in memory
even if they're not deemed important enough to remember the spelling.
