You mean to apply a watermark to your document. Using Word 2002, you would:

1. Go to Format|Background and click Printed Watermark.

2. Click Text Watermark.

3. Select the option you want (DRAFT) or enter the text in the field.

4. Choose the Font and other options available.

5. Click Apply.
