TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
This is how I mastered DW quickly. I'm not saying this is the
best route but it worked for me and the books are all well written and
informative:
1. "Teach Yourself Visually: Dreamweaver MX 2004" by Warner &
Gardner (~$20)
2. "Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004 for Windows and Macintosh :
Visual QuickStart Guide" by Towers (~$17)
3. "Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004 Hands-On Training (Hands on
Training (H.O.T))" by Green (~$45)
4. "Macromedia Dreamweaver MX Unleashed" by Pizzi, Rulvacaba,
Holden, and Meyer (~$50)
The first two are low-level with graphics that orient you with
the program. The third presents some "best of practice." The last one is a
reference of EVERYTHING DREAMWEAVER.
