I'm working on an online help project that requires document conversion
from proprietary formats to XML, specifically, DITA. Most of our
existing documentation is maintained in unstructured FrameMaker. Has
anyone worked with the DITA EDD for FrameMaker?

While I don't mind hand-tagging documents, the process is time consuming
and error prone. Additionally, we must allow for other team members who
are not very familiar with XML. Has anyone used Altova Authentic to
create or edit DITA documents? I've found it a little clumsy in placing
task elements, is there a workaround for this? Otherwise, perhaps you
can suggest another really good WYSIWYG XML editor that supports DITA.

All comments/suggestions/experiences will be greatly appreciated.
