As for "operating environment efficiency"--sorry, but the operating
systems most popular today seem often to get in the way with entirely
too much GUI-ness. Constantly removing your hands from the base keys,
if you are a touch typist, is grossly inefficient.

I have yet to find a full-featured word processor made for any GUI as
fast and easy to use for production as Xywrite was on DOS...although I
have long resisted the learning curve of Xemacs, that is coming very
soon for just this reason.
