Not in my opinion they aren't. I use my physical dictionaries more than
I use the web based ones. I usually reference one or two different
dictionaries: Merriam-Webster, American Heritage. I find the physical
ones have more information, plus, I'm a self-proclaimed bibliophile.
That said I do use the net for researching industry-specific terminology
or spelling of brand names and trademarks.
