TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
It's really tough to answer this question - there isn't *one* thing
that I do, but rather a combination of things. Different stresses
require different techniques to unwind, and sometime I find myself
doing a couple of these things at the same time.
I'm fortunate enough to live near a lake and when really stressed I
find a pier to sit on and watch the sunset and listen to the sounds of
nature all around me. Sometimes I read a book while I do that,
sometimes I mediate.
What I don't do is go on spending sprees (just causes a different kind
of stress) and exercise is limited to long walks around the lake,
especially if I've eaten out.

If we'd stop trying to be happy we could have a pretty good time.
