Slap the engineer around, tactfully. Then go ahead and provide the
customer with a nice, pretty, part numbered, official document, provided
as support for them. Put it out as a PR and Marketing ploy. Earn the
company goodwill and respect for getting them the info in a timely manner
and in a manner that they can archive as "support" from your company.
