Hi all,

I am an aspiring tech writer and was going through several tech comm
mailing lists and sites lately. I understand, tech comm has become an
integral function of IT and Aerospace industry. Does anyone have a
clue why other manufacturing industries have not made it (tech comm) a
part of their operation? My concern is Power and Industrial Automation
industry. A good user guide will certainly help the end user (O&M
professionals in this cae). I browsed through the websites of most of
the manufacturing majors in this vertical and managed to go through
'user-guides'. Most of them don't follow the consistent and structured
pattern maintained in regular IT user guides. This makes me think that
tech comm in manufacturing industry has a huge potential, which we are
yet to explore.

Warm regards

Anindyo Gupta
