explore. <<
I spent 20 years inside the Aerospace world, and I
didn't realize that I was a technical writer until
near the end of that time. As a Manufacturing Engineer
I wrote instructions for fabricating parts and
assemblies for internal consumption in the shops
to build our products (rocket motors).
None of this material was destined for use outside
that particular company, and was geared directly to
people I worked with on a daily basis.
The end user manuals for the products we built were
done by another organization, and I had no contact
with them at all.
There is a lot of writing in these companies, but
the writers go by different names, and may not
consider themselves writers.
