Last updated/Submitted on date at bottom of web pages
Subject:Last updated/Submitted on date at bottom of web pages From:"Nelson, Julie " <JOHNST -at- acehardware -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com> Date:Fri, 29 Jul 2005 07:55:19 -0500
I'm working on a portion of an intranet marketing site. Most of the
pages are straight text, explaining the benefits, general overview and
future developments of our computer system. When I developed this
content, the Corporate standard was to include a "Last updated" date or
"Submitted on" date at the bottom of each page. That standard is being
relaxed now & isn't required. What are your thoughts on including a
"Last updated/Submitted on" date at the bottom of web pages that don't
change very often. Some of the pages are over 2 years old, so I was
thinking old dates don't look very impressive. However, since the
content hasn't changed, there isn't a need to update the date. I can
see some benefits of including a date, but I thought I'd check to see
what your thoughts are.
