Jeff,

Even if everyone who reviews your documents doesn't have the means to edit a PDF electronically, PDF reviews are still wonderful.

I'm working in Acrobat 5.0 quite contentedly (I've seen 6.0 and don't care for it and can't get 7.0 yet), so I can't offer my reviewers the ability to edit the PDF using Reader. And not everyone here has the full version of Acrobat, so they can't all mark up a PDF electronically. But even so, all of my reviewers seem to be happy with reviewing PDF files instead of hard copies. People print the pages that they want to, if any, and mark up the changes, or they simply e-mail me comments.

About half of my reviewers have figured out how to do digital signatures on the PDF signoff sheet, and the rest are content with printing a hard copy and signing it. I've eliminated the time it used to take me to make copies and walk them around, and my reviewers have gotten ridiculously fast at getting back to me. My record is getting a signed review sheet 14 minutes (!) yesterday after I set something out for review.

I don't know if that helps any, but I had to get that 14-minute mention in there. I was so impressed!

Happy Friday!
