TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Is it job hopping? Or is it employers who are uninterested in
retention of employees and don't care about retraining new guys? I
mean, do technical writers job hop because they want to job hop, or is
job hopping a result of business practices?
It's not a matter of you envying your company officerts, I think, it's
a matter of your quality of family life versus your employer's need
for you to sacrifice your family life.
And, I don't think anyone is arguing about not taking night classes at
uni. I think the argument -- my argument -- is that improving your
capabilities for your employer by blowing down a week of family
vacation seems shortsighted. Do you live to work or work to live?
