Tom's absolutely right - I am in software and we only do PDF files (for a variety of reasons). In my universe, keeping the page numbers in sync with the PDF files is only a bit more involved.
I am a die-hard FrameMaker user and I appreciate the hyperlinks created in the ToC but, again, since our customers tend to refer to the PDF on-screen or print a range of pages (as needed), this is an excellent solution for us.
