Subject:Word question: Heading numbering not following From:Brian Gordon <elasticsoul2003 -at- yahoo -dot- ca> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com> Date:Thu, 18 Aug 2005 12:02:29 -0400 (EDT)
I hate Word.
Adjust Heading 2, and Heading 3 tabs/indents change.
Go fix Heading 3 tabs, and Heading 2 changes.
Restarted Word, refixed tabs/indents, and for
now...this is only one of many reasons why Word will
never be a popular...oh, wait...
Anyway, I cannot get Heading 3 to follow the outline
numbering of Heading 2. The goal is (showing chapter
5):
5.0 Heading 1
5.1 Heading 2
5.1.1 Heading 3
Easy, right? Used to take it for granted, but now it
looks like this:
5.0 Heading 1
5.1 Heading 2
1.1 Heading 3
Why will Heading 3 not follow 2? The Previous level
number field offers me the option of Level 1 or Level
2, but remains blank no matter what I pick.
