Look around you. Look at software, hardware, cars, household goods, etc. How
many names of products you see out there dragging around a stuffy,
self-important, 5th wheel "The"? All the other products will laugh at it.
Nobody outside your company--probably that one department--cares about "The" as
part of the name. Very few of them will ever write it correctly.
Also, "The" as the first part of any name tends to create awkwardness in
writing.
