You could do it with Excel and Word's Mail Merge, but it wouldn't be
"elegant".
So, in Excel, create a spreadsheet that has the columns...
- Flag
- Name of applicant
- Work experience 1
- Work experience 2
...
- Education experience 1
- Education experience 2
.. and so on
Then, in Word, create a mail merge template that uses the Excel sheet as
its data source. The template should contains all of the columns from the
Excel that you want to print out.
Then, search for the candidates whose resumes you would like to build. For
each candidate that meets the search criteria, put a "1" in the "Flag"
field. Sort the Excel sheet by the "Flag" field, so that all the
candidates that meet your search criteria are lumped together. Note the
row #s of the selected candidates, and save the Excel sheet.
Then, run the merge in Word against the set of candidates that you
selected. (You will need to specify the row #s that correspond to these
candidates.) And, voila! You have the resumes of the candidates you
selected.
The next time you want to run a search, clear out the "Flag" field and
start the process over again.
