I'd just request anyone responding to Elizabeth please do so to the
list: I'm always curious about the "latest and greatest" in search
functions, but I get so busy with "more important" stuff that I don't
keep up on what's available out there. I remember that at one time when
Yahoo! was the dominant search engine I had a whole category of
"Favorites" on my browser devoted to different search engines (probably
50+ of them), and some that were search engines of search engines.
Inktomi, Yahoo!, Snap, Ask Jeeves, are just a few of the ones I remember
off that list. I remember when I found Google it was so sharply focused
and seemed so well suited to my searches that ever since I keep it
bookmarked as my only general-purpose search engine. But just as Google
was far superior to Yahoo!, I'm sure that someday (if it hasn't already
happened) some newer search engine will be that much better than Google.
