Elizabeth asked: We want to include a search function that will search the
website.
Ken said: I'd just request anyone responding to Elizabeth please do so
to the list: I'm always curious about the "latest and greatest" in search
functions, but I get so busy with "more important" stuff that I don't
keep up on what's available out there
I've tried a few free search engines on my personal web site, including
SiteLevel, and I found that FreeFind (www.freefind.com) offered more (e.g.,
their free service has no fixed page limit but a byte limit of 32MB).
I switched to a Google search box when I signed up for AdSense.
Another service I found very helpful was SEVENtwentyfour.com's LinkChecking.
I signed up for their one-month free trial a few months ago and discovered a
few broken links as a result. Perhaps there are wysiwyg editors available
that have link verification built-in; however, I wouldn't know since I have
always preferred using TextEdit (when on a PC) or BBEdit (when on my Mac).
