Hi, Scott:

I am at a job now where we are using FM+SGML, and they are using rw rules.
I can't find an EDD. It appears that they are formatting on the fly, since
the format is applied but the character and paragraph names are not
applied. It's all overridden formats, much like a Word document. It works
but it comes at a price.

Scott

Use File > Structure Tools > Export Element Catalog As EDD to obtain the EDD embedded in the current document.

The two main differences between this exported EDD and the original that I know, are

* Elements are in alphabetical order; the developer may have created or arranged elements in what seemed to be a logical order. This doesn't affect the operation of the rules-checking behavior, but it does make it harder to grasp the design. For example an element named "Cell" would appear before an element named "Table." You'd need to jump around the file to see all the related pieces.

* There are no developer's comments.
