I recently started a wiki -- Open Source Tech Writer
(http://opensourcetechwriter.schtuff.com/) -- that's related to the
work I do as a tech writer. Although it's my first wiki, I can
definitely see the appeal and usefulness of wikis for collaborative
activities.

Had our TC group not already started its own department intranet in
straight HTML, I would definitely have suggested we go with a wiki.
Past TECHWR-L discussions have talked about using wikis as a vehicle
for delivering customer documentation. I don't know that I'm ready to
go that far, but they seem well suited to internal communications --
like style guides and group process documents.
