Subject:FrameMaker is driving me insane PDF's - ARGH!!! From:lorenzo -dot- gonzalez -at- ints -dot- com To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com> Date:Tue, 25 Oct 2005 17:55:12 -0600
Rookie question, I know...
We need to create a PDF of a small portion of a huge User's Manual. We try
the general method of printing that portion to file. Problem is, it goes
ahead and generates the whole chapter of 140+ pages, even though we only
need 16 pages!
So we tried something else. We copied and pasted the portion we needed to
a new Frame file. Problem: change bars appeared and the text all went red
and we couldn't figure out how to change it back to black. We found we
were able to print that red portion to PDF, but it was unusable since it
was not professional to send to our customer.
Why is Frame so silly? A simple copy and paste to a new file should not
produce red text and change bars! Are the settings screwed up or is this
a bug?
Any help with this would be appreciated. I checked the archives here and
found nothing regarding red text in FrameMaker.
