Don is right about all the Exchange-related difficulties you may find.
Novell is working on a Windows version of the Evolution product that
overcomes a lot of those problems, but that's nowhere near ready.

Besides Thunderbird, which I like as a basic client (and is modeled on
Outlook Express), you might want to play with Aethera. This is a
Windows port of the KDE PIM, Kontact. I haven't played with this
version much, but it works quite well in Linux -- Email, Calendar,
Contacts, Newsgroups. Info (and download) is here:
