TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
My mistake, I should have said "a" instead of "the".
Sorry Dick.
Dick said "Any n-dimensional structure can be mapped
to a linear one dimensional structure". I say that it
is not possible to document complex multidimensional
(n-dimensional) systems using text - unless you assume
an unlimited amount of time and money (a case which I
don't even think about.)
If it where possible to efficienctly and effectively
document these systems with a linear tool (text), then
nobody would be pushing multidimensional models
because, becasuse for most people, me included, it is
easier to work with text.
